Full scans of the Transformers G1 Character Encyclopedia

 

Recently I acquired a copy of the obscure Transformers G1 Character Encyclopedia, released in 2004, and scanned it at my local library. This guidebook serves as an encyclopedia for the entire Japanese G1 saga at the time, from season 1 up to G2, including profiles for every notable character, synopses and a collection of illustrations from the various releases. From a Western fan's perspective, it's always engaging looking at some of the later Japanese G1 material as it diverged further and further away from what Hasbro was doing with the brand, and I hope anybody interested in the Japanese side of Transformers can get some use out of this.

Hard-to-find Transformers resources

Transformers is a big franchise with a very dedicated fan community who have archived the majority of obscure material across the brand's history. Due to the community being so big and things being split up over the years, it can be difficult for an outsider to know where to look for certain materials. In general, your best friend is TFWiki, which always has detailed and useful write ups of everything in the franchise and very frequently has a direct link to material that's otherwise unavailable, but even that might not guide you to where to find it sometimes. Full scans of the Nintendo Official Guide Book for Super Metroid

    Last year I acquired a copy of the Nintendo Official Guide Book for Super Metroid , released in 1994, and did some kind of shitty scans for it at my local library. They're not the highest quality ever, but they're readable and provide access to an obscure but very interesting part of Metroid's history.
